How To Park At Lambeau Field On Game Day And Get Out Of Town Quickly And Easily

People are always complaining about the traffic at Lambeau Field on game day. This is only true if you're a person who doesn't take it upon themselves to look at a map. However, there's two different strategies for people who want to tailgate and those that don't. If you DON'T TAILGATE, then read the information below on this page for parking strategies and avoiding traffic.

OK... see the map below of the Lambeau Field area? The RED star is the intersection of Lombardi Avenue and Oneida St. Think of those two streets dividing the area into four quadrants with Lambeau Field being in the southwest quadrant.

When you arrive, park your car in the northeast quadrant. There's plenty of free parking on the side streets, all within blocks of Lambeau. The streets run east-west; park on the north side of the street so that your car is facing west toward Oneida. The reason for this is you will want to have a straight shot to Oneida and an easy right turn so that you're heading north on Oneida. It could be difficult to turn onto Oneida if you park in the northwest quadrant.

When you get to Mason Street (Hwy 54) after going north on Oneida, turn left (west) if you want to go north on I-41. If you want to go south of Green Bay, turn right (east) and cross the Fox River. Right on the east bank of the river is Hwy 57. Turn right (south) and just keep going.

If you're going to Milwaukee, stay on 57. It will eventually meet up with I-43. You will avoid virtually all the game traffic going out of Lambeau. Even though Hwy 57 is a 55 mph zone and passes through some towns, you will not be going anywhere fast in the log jam on I-43. You also have the choice of getting onto 172 in Green Bay and getting onto I-43 but 57 for most points south is the better route.

If you need to go south on I-41, then turn right (west) on either Hwy 96 or Hwy 10. It will take you to I-41. It's the long way around, but the regular routes and I-41 itself are pretty much a dead standstill after the game. You'll beat most of the bad traffic and delays this way. An alternative to this is to park in the southwest quadrant (lots of free street parking there too) and then go west on Cormier Road. Then go south on County Road EB and then catch I-41 by going east on County Road AAA or County Road G.

The only drawback to this is you can't tailgate at Lambeau Field. But, if you want to save the $20 parking and you need to get home after the game, this is the way to go.

Another advantage to parking in the northeast quadrant is it's all FREE street parking. Many people pay to park in a lot much farther away. If they only knew...
